Pelham Arcade is 200 years old this year
Pelham Arcade was designed by Joseph Kay (1775-1847) as a shopping Bazaar. It is an early example of a covered shopping mall similar to Burlington Arcade (1819) in London. Sadly it is in a very poor state of repair due to the condition of the road above it & only one unit is open. It is listed GradeII. Pelham Crescent & church were completed by Kay in 1828.
